COURSES AND TRAINING
Enjoy four days of trekking in the Aran Valley.
A great active getaway to be able to enjoy some of the most representative corners of this privileged corner of the Pyrenees.
calf will be our base camp, and it will be from here where every day, after a short trip by vehicle we will make each excursion. At night we will enjoy a good dinner to recharge our body with energy for the next day..
The proximity of Aigüestortes National Park and San Mauricio Lake configures the area as one of the most attractive in the Pyrenees, ideal to discover the most classic and grateful mountaineering.
The Val d’Aran It is located on the Atlantic slope of the Central pyrenees, fact that conditions everything; the weather, history and relationships with your neighbors. The river Garona makes its way north through Aquitaine lands, in France, through the only natural exit from the valley. In fact and despite being administratively integrated in Spain, It was not until 1948, when the Vielha tunnel, that the valley was communicated throughout the year by road with the rest of the state. All of this has kept their Occitan language and culture.. Another important aspect of Val d’Aran, in addition to its orientation is that the 30 % of the valley is above the 2.000 altitude meters.
Despite the great urban development that the valley has suffered in recent years, we can still enjoy its cultural heritage. Towns, churches, stately homes, churches, laundries, mills or troughs have lasted to this day. The town of Arties, with beautiful views of the Montardo (2.833 m), and its Romanesque church of Santa Maria de Arties, they are just an example.
The natural products that this land brings to your kitchen are such as garden vegetables, game meat, mushrooms, the fruits of the forest (like blueberries, wild strawberries, gooseberries or raspberries) or honey. Hence the “civet” wild boar, the Aranese pot o la truhada.
