He Pallars Sobirà it is full of special corners, of endearing landscapes with towns quiet, Romanesque hermitages, medieval castles and old huts, besides impressive lagos, valleys and rivers.

Enjoy four days of trekking in the zone of Tavascan and Vallferrera.

A great active getaway to be able to enjoy some of the most representative corners of this privileged corner of the Pyrenees.

We will stay in a comfortable accommodation in the valley that will serve as our base camp., and it will be from here where every day, after a short trip by vehicle we will make each excursion. At night we will enjoy a good dinner to recharge our body with energy for the next day..

Vallferrera

Vallferrera It is a valley that is located in the province of Lleida, in the Catalan pyrenees, West of Andorra. Surrounded by mountains that rise between the 1.900 and the 3.000 meters. It is washed by the rivers Walnut of Vallferrera and its tributary Walnut of Tor.

One of the most authentic valleys in the Pyrenees, where its typical stone houses, wood and slate take us back to times past full of charm and tranquility. Seven towns or villages are scattered throughout the valley: Ainet de besan, Alins, Araós (the Arahós), Areu, They kiss, Norís and Tor.

Detailed Program

Day 1. Journey to destination. Accommodation in Vall de Cardos

Day 2. Circular Certascán and Estanys de Romedo.

We will start with the beautiful forest of Boavi, where the climb up the ravine of Certaincán, comfortable ascent, going through several Trays under the Llurri mountain range. Prior to arrival at the lake, We will have a stretch that is a bit harder but that will reward us with the beauty of the place where we will arrive., he Certascan Lake, next to his refuge, Overnight stop in the trekking of the Gate of Heaven.

If the forces accompany, we can complete a circular for both Romedo Lake and for him Ore Hole.

Distance 14 km Elevation + 950 m. Unevenness – 950m.

Day 3. Pico Ventolau (2853m).

Ventolau peak is one of the highest peaks in the area, next to Mont-roig, that enjoys spectacular views over the region of the Pallars Sobirà.

Departing from the station Tavascán skiing we will tour the Coma del Forn passing by some small rafts of water. We will reach the Coll de Ventolau a 2675m, and from here less than 200m we will reach the top. We will enjoy spectacular views of the massif of the Pica d´ Estados and of the Ponds that rounds to the top.

The descent can be lengthened by making a short loop to the peak Three Ponds and its lakes.

Distance 9 km Elevation + 1100m. Unevenness – 1100m.

Day 4. Circular Circular Vall Ferrera

We will make a circular through the lower area of Ferrera Valley. A route through forests, comfortable ascents visiting huts in which not long ago, they were full of life, with shepherds and their flocks. We will link with the TRF (cross border trail) to reach the Vallferrera refuge. The return will be made by the other slope of the valley that we have used for the ascent and where the GR-11. The forest of Font Tallada and the fir of the Pla de la Selva will be other points of our visit.

Day 5. Tavascan- Lladorre

For this last day an interesting journey awaits us mixing culture, tradition and mountain. We will cross lush forests on our way out of Tavascan, ascending the route of the Gate of Heaven and later the GR11. We will reach the small town of Heavy Jussa, where the hermitages of Sant Pere y Cristòfol. We will continue the descent to the bottom of the valley where we will find the hermitage of Santa Eulàlia. On arrival at Lladorre, we can visit the Lladorre Castle, concluding these 4 days of hiking in this magnificent mountain area of ​​the Pallars Sobirà.
